Security

Windows Security:

It doesn't take much imagination to realise that most intruders enter your home through windows and exit through doors. New windows and doors offer increasing levels of security using high-technology hardware which makes it much more difficult to break in. Don't forget that sealed unit double glazing also acts as a powerful deterrent to would-be thieves because the glass is more difficult to break.

WRS's Elite 70 window which is sold as standard features all of the following security measures.

Locking Handles:

Handles incorporating integral locks are looked on favourably by many insurance companies.

Espagnolette Locking:

A mechanism rather like an old-fashioned fridge where the handle operates a bar which in turn operates cams and bolts at several points around the frame, providing excellent security.

'Shootbolt' Locks:

Operating the handle not only operates the usual catch but also 'shoots' bolts in to the top and bottom of the frame giving an even higher security performance.

Friction Hinges:

Casement 'scissor-action' window hinges that hold the window open where you want it. These come in various forms e.g. Standard, Egress - for a maximum clear opening. Restricted - for minimum safety opening and High Security types. These are also available as Fire Hinges.

Night Vents/Trickle Vents - Available Upon Request:

Vents incorporated into window frames which provide ventilation without opening the window. Ventilators are required under the new Building Regulations.

Internally Glazed:

This means the actual double glazed panel cannot be removed from the outside.
